Farming at Woodland Valley



The Jones’ family have been farming Woodland Valley for half a century.

They have embraced the principles of organic farming and are certified with the Soil Association. Woodland Valley is a 170 acre mixed farm, providing organic beef and pork for direct local sales.

Over 20 acres comprises woodland, streams, ponds and some wetland devoted to wildlife with several rare birds present.

Our animal welfare is a high priority and we exceed standards set by the Soil Association. Our calves are single suckled by their mothers for at least 9 months before weaning.

Our Animals spend the bulk of the year out at pasture and are then housed on fresh straw in our spacious covered yards over the worst of the winter months.


To minimise stress and food miles, we use local abattoirs and butchers.

To ensure fine eating quality, we have a pedigree Aberdeen Angus bull from the award winning Woodington Herd. Our suckler herd’s diet is organic and GM free, based on our clover rich, home-grown grass, hay and silage.

This ensures a high Omega-3 content (reducing heart disease risks).
